experience with Lipovsky Building Company may not be the exact same as
ours was
– during the 12 months our beautiful log home was being built we formed
a
lifelong friendship with many of the people from Lipovsky Building
Company and
Wisconsin Log Homes. What I can promise you is that the quality
of
craftsmanship and attention to detail given to your home will be the
best you
will ever find anywhere no matter how far you search.
The first time
I spoke to Dave Lipovsky was on the phone (he
lives in Michigan and we live in Georgia).
My
first
impression
was that he was too young to build a good quality
log home
and was I wrong! He quickly informed me he had been helping his
grandfather and his dad build log homes since he was a young boy.
A
family business is one that is formed out of the love each generation
has for
their particular skill/craft…Lipovsky Building Company has this and
much more!
This was not
the first time my husband and I worked with a building
contractor; this was the third home we had built, so we were quite
familiar
with the process…this by far was the easiest and least stressful, yet
the
largest and most complex of the three projects.
Dave was
there for us every step of the way…whether he was
right at the job site or at another job he was always ready to answer
any
question and alleviate any concerns we may have. His work ethics
comprise
of do it right the first time and build it as if you were building the
home for
yourself and not a customer (all of his employees also have these same
values).
Anyone
who has come to see our house tells us the same thing
over and over…”no one in this area would ever be able to build a home
of the
quality your home is”. We saved for over 20 years…we wanted
a home
that would last for years and that was truly unique…Dave and LBCo made
our
dream a reality.

"Generations of Quality
Craftsmanship"
Finding a competent
contractor these days is no easy feat. I
visit my sisters in Detroit and see homes languishing with unfinished
construction. Our experience over the past thirty years in the
small town of Harrison with Lipovsky Building Company is much
different. their family work ethic and skilled effort has been
developing for generations.
Our first experience with Lipovsky Builders came when we bought our
first small home, and I foolishly agreed to let my husband TRY to
remodel our kitchen. After a week with a new baby and no water, I
told my husband to find a professional contractor or I was moving into
a hotel. He called Dave senior, who came highly recommended
around town, and it was Dave who saved our marriage (just
kidding). We were so impressed with the finished product, we had
his son David come in later to tile our bathroom. All of the work
was impeccable.
Years later, we bought our dream home. Dave senior inspected the
home for us and told us exactly what work would need to be done.
We set up a schedule for the new decking and front porch, saving the
roof for last. To our horror though, one night during a huge
downpour, my husband and I returned home to find our dining room
ceiling leaking. While I grabbed spaghetti pots to catch the
water, Mike called Dave and requested (okay, pleaded) our roof project
be moved up on the schedule.
Within the week, Lipovsky Builders were fast at work. Because of
our desperation, they had moved some projects around and put up our new
roof before the next rain. During the roof replacement, the
workers discovered some structural damage which they replaced and
repaired immediately. Thankfully, there were no delays, just a
lot of backbreaking work to get the project finished. Although
fixing our roof was a business arrangement, the commitment and loyalty
to quickly get the job done touched our hearts.
Today, son David runs Lipovsky Building Company and constructs
incredible homes across the United States. Imagine my surprise,
when we called and requested some remodeling work at our home in
Harrison. I fully assumed David would be too busy, but he
insisted he could get the work done and would be happy to do so.
He said "You have been loyal customers for years, and that means
something to our family." Truth be told, it was HIS loyalty to US
that spoke volumes.
When David came over to our house to look at what needed to be done, we
started with the kitchen. I mentioned that I loved my ceramic
tile but understood that it would probably have to go. David took
one look and said, "You don't have to give up the tile. It really
IS nice. I promise, we can preserve it and work around it." I
couldn't believe it. But when you are working with Lipovsky
Building Company, one of the first principles you learn is trust.
When David says it can
be done, it can be done. And if you don't like the way it looks
when he is finished, he bends over backwards to get it just the way you
like it. He is committed to making sure YOU are happy. My
beautiful new kitchen is now complete and the ceramic tile is is
perfect condition.
Commitment. Diligent work. Craftsmanship.
Trust. Loyalty. In today's society, these qualities are
hard to come by. As for Lipovsky Building Company, these traits
define it.

I cannot thank you enough for all the great things you did to make my
dream house a reality. This place is more that I expected. I
though I had my stuff together on design, colors, fixtures, etc, but
the workmanship, artistic abilities and quality took my expectations
way over the edge for sure.
Ok - so it was probably one of the most difficult projects ever! Having
to haul all supplies to the jobsite through creeks and rotten roads was
a pain in the butt, losing the skytrack in the creek was an added. (OK
- so it has since been named Devil's Curve for a reason at this
point... Yet never once did you or your guys say this couldn't be
done. There was such a rewarding "can do" attitude through almost
a year of construction and I always was confident then when you said
"no problem" that there was a will and a way to get this house done.
WOW is all I can say now that I actually am living the dream!! The
workmanship and quality is something I've never seen before in any of
my other home building projects, nor anywhere else for that matter -
all is unique. Just a certain pride and "ownership of workmanship" is
obvious in every inch of this home. From the framing to the
detail in the fabulous staircase, nothing was done "half-assed" -
something very rare these days. AND - you, Dave Senior and the
rest of your TEAM were amazing and professional all the way through the
good and bad.
I giggle because every local that walks through this home wants to know
who my contractor is from MI, well, they just sigh - knowing they'll
never get this quality here in TN. Sad fact but I was blessed to
have you and your TEAM build my dream house. I feel like I not
only made lifetime friends but also met people that I can truly respect
for their pride in what they DO.
